Project Development

Programme Components
Whilst using the momentum and the intensive contact with the communities related to reconstruction activities (e.g. design, mapping, monitoring, etc.), the programmes wish to build the capacity of the community regarding risk management. For the programme in Simeulue this component emphasizes Emergency Preparedness Planning in which the schools can function as a safe haven and facilitating location during and in the direct aftermath of an emergency.

Project Development
Through the disaster risk management approach potential threats to the communities and hence potential decerase of sustainability of Cordaid’s programmes is being defined. Additional activities will be developed to this end. The projects will be integrated into the existing activities of Cordaid. The objective is to ensure that risks and vulnerabilities are mitigated.
