Project site:

6 villages within the Sub District of Seunuddon, District of Aceh Utara (North Aceh):

1. Lhok Puuk
2. Ulee Rubek Barat
3. Ulee Rubek Timur
4. Matang Lada
5. Teupin Kuyun
6. Bantayan

Bantayan village (number 6 on the map) was completely destroyed by the December 2004 tsunami. All beneficiaries from this village were relocated to Matang Lada (indicated with the number 4 on the map).

Along with the reconstruction of houses for 2004 tsunami survivors and infrastructures rehabilitation project in the target area, Cordaid also assists and facilitates its beneficiaries to improve their living condition. Although both of the projects appear to be different, indeed they are strongly related and relevant to each other.

Together with Cordaid's donors and partners, the implementation of the post tsunami reconstruction and rehabilitation is focused not only to (re)build houses and infrastructure, but also to build the community.
