CORDAID (The Netherlands) an international aid organization, is assisting the government of Indonesia in the reconstruction of 1,100 houses, water supply, sanitation and other small infrastructure in Aceh Utara district and reconstruction of schools in Simeulue island. For its house reconstruction and/or sub-surface drainage construction in costal villages of Seunuddon sub-district, CORDAID is looking for

Field Civil Engineer with extensive experience to oversee the reconstruction of houses and drainage in Seunuddon – Aceh Utara.

Qualifications:

  • The Candidate must hold a degree in civil engineering or equivalent with at least 5-6 years hands on experience in construction, supervision and monitoring of a large number of rural buildings and/or rural extensive surface drainage projects;
  • The candidate must have up to date knowledge of the Indonesian tender and contract procedures, and building and community infrastructure regulations;
  • The candidate will liaise between consulting architects, contractors, PU and relevant local government departments, and the Cordaid Project Management. Work experience with consulting construction companies/architects and several contractors at a time is an advantage;
  • Good analytical and reporting skills (Computer literate) and communication standards;
  • The candidate will be based in Lhokseumawe and be willing and able to travel extensively to Cordaid project villages;
  • Basic level of English (spoken & written) and Aceh is an important advantage and fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is must;
  • Holding a valid driver licenses for cars and motorcycles is an asset;
  • Willingness to carry other relevant tasks as assigned by supervisor and empathy to Cordaid Code of Conduct
